During 2014-2020 Programming period under the Priority "Environment" 1,237,959 euros have been invested in environmental protection infrastructure for the rehabilitation of retaining walls and the river bed of the Bistrica River (Dupnitsa Municipality), construction of a flood protection facility at the Rilska River (Rila Municipality), an early warning system developed for flood in the territory of the Municipality of Etropole, specialized equipment related to disaster management was purchased, especially to reduce the risk of floods and reduce the damage caused by floods in the Municipality of Chiprovtsi.
