Project summary:

The project “Rescaling the Regions” (RESCALE) presents a comprehensive approach to overcoming economic disparities and improving business connectivity in the cross-border region between Bulgaria and Serbia. It is based on the idea that small and medium-sized enterprises in less developed and peripheral areas can achieve sustainable growth when provided with targeted support, access to knowledge, and opportunities for cooperation.

Through the partnership between national and regional business support organizations, the project establishes a joint platform for services and consultancy aimed at business development. It will provide around 200 SMEs from the cross-border region with opportunities to enhance their competitiveness, integrate into international value chains, and expand into new markets.

Within the project, joint training programmes will be developed and implemented, focusing on key areas such as entrepreneurship, digitalization, green transition, and internationalization. These trainings will combine theory and practice and will help enterprises build practical skills to adapt to modern economic conditions.

In addition, trade missions, business delegations, and participation in international forums will be organized, enabling enterprises to establish new partnerships, explore innovative practices, and expand their presence in foreign markets.

The project also places strong emphasis on sustainable development by encouraging the adoption of environmentally friendly and resource-efficient solutions, as well as digital technologies in business operations. Through knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and the development of cooperation networks, a solid foundation for long-term business growth in the region will be created.

“RESCALE” demonstrates how coordinated actions, shared experience, and cross-border partnership can create a more connected, innovative, and competitive economic environment that offers real growth opportunities for local enterprises.
