Project summary: | The project “Development and Expansion of Regional Data Centers in the Cross-Border Area between Bulgaria and Serbia” (DATACENTERSBGSR) introduces a new approach to the digital development of businesses in the cross-border region between Bulgaria and Serbia. It is based on the understanding that the modern economy requires secure and accessible infrastructure for data storage and processing, located close to local enterprises and tailored to their real needs. The project is implemented in partnership between Interlan BG Ltd. (Radomir) and NINET COMPANY DOO NIŠ (Niš), combining their expertise in telecommunications and information technologies. The main idea is to establish and develop two interconnected regional data centers in Bulgaria and Serbia that will operate in synergy and provide modern digital services to businesses on both sides of the border. Within the project, a new data center will be built in Radomir through the delivery and installation of specialized equipment, including server infrastructure, cooling systems, fire detection, and security systems. At the same time, the data center in Niš will be further developed and expanded, thus creating two complementary technological hubs in the region. A key element of the project is the interconnection of the two centers into a unified system that enables data exchange and ensures redundant data storage. This increases the reliability and security of the services, ensuring that information remains protected and accessible even in the event of technical failures or emergency situations. The project also envisages active cooperation between the partners through knowledge exchange, joint planning, and coordinated service development. This collaboration will ensure that the two data centers function as a single integrated system focused on the needs of the local business community. Following the establishment of the infrastructure, activities will be carried out to present and promote the services among small and medium-sized enterprises in the region. This will encourage the uptake of new opportunities for digitalization, data storage, and the development of online business activities. The project lays the foundation for long-term cooperation between the partners through the development of a joint post-project action plan. This will ensure the sustainability of the results and enable the future expansion of the services provided. The DATACENTERSBGSR project builds upon the existing capacities of the partners and demonstrates how targeted investments and cross-border cooperation can create a modern digital environment for business development. |
